HELP FOR HAITI- CONTAINER SHIPMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Yesterday, Thursday, April 29, 2010, MedShare sent its 17th SHIPMENT of disaster relief aid to Haiti since the devastating earthquake occurred in January. This container was loaded with 44 hospital beds and 10 laptop computers by MedShare’s Western Regional Distribution Center staff in San Leandro, California. The equipment being shipped to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Diquini, Carrefour, Port-au-Prince. This is a small charity hospital which under normal circumstances has about 70 in-patient beds, but now, post-earthquake, there are 300, and more are needed. Nearly 1,000 people are currently living on the hospital grounds, and the staff are struggling with limited resources to care for all. The 44 beds and 10 computers will hopefully be very helpful for all.
Thanks to Jerry Daly and everyone else from SDA and Loma Linda University, and to Horizons West and Direct Supply for coordinating the procurement of the beds!
